Some drawings start as an
exercise. Like these Roses, who
came to the studio as a large, silk
flower arrangement, just for
modeling and working with light.
They had their own ray of
sunshine coming through the
window, and they were inspiring to
look at, so I drew them. Instead of
putting in a ray of sunshine, I
developed this "Ray of Color".
