| You just can't do it. No matter how fast you drive. You'll still catch that rock wall out of the edge of your eye. Oh, no! Don't look! Don't look! You'll have to pull over. That twisted tree, that green grass, with wildflowers, oh my God! You try to keep your eyes on the passing white line. You only look at the traffic coming from the side streets. Driveways everywhere, pay attention! Because, because....if you look, you will be forced to pull over. Those juices will flow, your eyes will overflow, like watching a lovely woman. Those tall trees, deep evergreens, blue rocks, gray rocks, yellow blossoms, Don't look, don't look, ahhh......too late. I pulled over to draw. * * * by Dan Stephanian |
